Are you a green building expert who wants to make an impact in your community? Illinois Green's offers two opportunities to connect and share your knowledge as a building mentor:
Volunteers in these programs complete hands-on projects and share knowledge to advance sustainability in all building types.
Last year over 100 green building professionals donated their time in an Illinois Green volunteer program. Join one of these programs to take meaningful action towards helping a building's sustainable operations.
Learn which program is right for you and apply. Applications close September 19.
The Illinois Green Schools Project Mentors are volunteers from Illinois Green Alliance that have sustainability and green building expertise, including architects, engineers, designers, builders, and more.
Green Schools Mentors are matched with a school in the Illinois Green Schools Project to help them select, plan, and implement a no- to low-cost sustainability project.
The Sustainable Facilities Mentor program is for members who would like to gain skills in sustainable operations, and use that knowledge to help buildings in their community meet sustainability goals.
Volunteers either build a connection with a building in their community or are matched with a participant building in the Neighborhood Power Project.
