Chicago, IL // Spring 2021

The Academy for Global Citizenship Green Team was inspired to expand their Earth Week Celebration and develop new activities to engage AGC students, families, and the surrounding community both through socially distant in-person and virtual activities.

Through the celebration, the Green Team educated the broader community about food and food waste, plastic use, soil health and sustainable skin care. The new activities focused on food security and creating a DIY sugar scrub aim to encourage students and families to engage in sustainable practices at home and further incorporate these types of activities into the sustainability framework at AGC.

Project type: Native Plant or Food Garden, Sustainability Plan Development, Waste Reduction (Recycling, Composting, Material Re-use), Soil health
