Join Illinois Green Alliance to explore how the project team leveraged a collaborative design and construction process to incorporate high-performance features into the DuPage Wildlife Conservation Center.

This virtual session will delve into the project’s journey, including the design–build methodology and the integrated approach from inception to construction that brought together architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders. Focusing on the four pillars of sustainable design—human, social, environment and economic—we will walk through the high-performance features the team focused on in their pursuit of LEED Gold and Net Zero Energy.

DuPage Wildlife Conservation Center serves as a resource for residents of DuPage County to learn about living in harmony with local wildlife and champions the interconnection between healthy wildlife and healthy ecosystems to foster and promote safe, healthy, and sustainable communities for all living things in DuPage County and beyond.

The new campus improvements include a new, approximately 27,600 sf. Clinic and Visitor Center designed to support an efficient and safe rehabilitation process, a variety of Outdoor Rehabilitation Enclosures grossing approximately 27,200 sf. to prepare animals for release into the wild, and a renovated 5,400 sf. Research and Species Propagation Center to support the captive propagation of at-risk species and research projects that will advance wildlife medicine and rehabilitation.
