Architects & Engineers Unite! An Embodied Carbon Reduction Gameplan
This virtual, hour-long course provides a realistic, intentional, and integrated approach to designing for embodied carbon reductions, emphasizing the inherent inter-connectivity of architecture and structural engineering. This process highlights practical and timely opportunities to reduce embodied carbon in your projects through interdisciplinary design interventions, material research, and decision-making. Through efficient, collaborative, high-impact tools and solutions, design teams can meet project requirements and deliver low-embodied carbon designs.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify strategies for integrated interdisciplinary design coordination that reduce embodied carbon.
- Analyze the relationship between structural layout, architectural design, and embodied carbon to inform decision-making.
- Describe embodied carbon benchmarks and evaluate their health, economic, social, and governance impacts for clients and project teams.
- Explore embodied carbon reduction opportunities through both architectural and structural design perspectives.
