Matt joined Illinois Green in early 2024 as the Communications and Engagement Manager, where he oversees the organization’s audience development, outreach, and communications initiatives.

Before joining the Illinois Green team, Matt was the Global Cities Communications Officer at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. In this role, he expanded the reach and influence of the Council’s Global Cities program by building collaborative partnerships with international urban stakeholders. Previously, he was a Contributing Writer at Green Building & Design magazine, where he investigated best practices and new techniques in sustainable development.

Matt is an avid bicyclist and outdoor enthusiast, and in his free time enjoys hiking, camping, and spending summer days on Chicago’s beautiful lakefront. He’s also passionate about food and loves to cook as well as explore new restaurants in Chicago and around the country.
