Sondra joined the team in the summer of 2024 and manages the fundraising initiatives for Illinois Green, including sponsorships, memberships, and signature events.

Before Illinois Green, Sondra worked at CHIRP Radio 107.1FM, managing the Chicago Independent Radio Project’s on-air fund drives. Prior to that, she managed the membership programs for the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events (DCASE) and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. She holds a Master’s in Education and is passionate about teaching nature and the environment.

Outside of work, Sondra is a published poet and on-air DJ. She also gardens at the HelloHoward Community Garden in Rogers Park. She started her love of the outdoors by growing up in the woods of Massachusetts and Maine. She is obsessed with fiddlehead ferns, coneflowers, cicadas, and exploding milkweed pods.
