Description

The Associate, Public Sector leads outreach and engagement to public schools in Northern Illinois, focused on energy efficiency and carbon free assessments. The Associate supports the development and implementation of services which include assistance with energy efficiency measures, decarbonization planning, and utility incentives. The Associate applies their relationship management and customer service skills to build strong relationships with public schools in ComEd’s territory to educate and engage them in implementing carbon free upgrades.

The Associate, Public Sector reports to Elevate’s Associate Director, Public Sector and Nonprofit, and may collaborate with other teams in a lead or support role. This position is located in Chicago, Illinois and is currently remote with some local meetings required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as point of contact to public schools in the engagement of energy efficiency, utility incentives, and carbon free assessments, providing high quality service within required program timelines.
  • Work directly with public schools to educate them on energy efficiency and decarbonization measures and Program offerings, includes working internally with Elevate staff to develop strategies, and participate in Assessment Report Review sessions.
  • Work with internal and external communications teams to raise awareness, develop and update public-facing materials and maintain web presence of Public Schools Carbon Free Assessment program offerings.
  • Maintain relationships with outreach partners to promote recruitment of public schools into the Program.
  • Represent the ComEd Public Schools Carbon Free Assessments program at official utility events.
  • Gather customer satisfaction information and resolve concerns from customers with any issues.
  • Develop weekly operational reports and quarterly reports, including gathering data and working with internal teams to ensure accuracy.
  • Responsible for providing key information needed for all forecasts, accruals, and invoices.
  • Manage program metrics and data systems, including CRM records in internal and external systems.
  • Develop and manage the Public Schools offering intake process, including creating and managing new workflows and ensure they are working correctly. The intake includes eligibility screening for interested public schools as well as assigning to others when referrals are received.
  • Develop and manage new program processes and workflows. An example is to develop an action plan for managing a wait list or increasing pipeline, including regular communications to internal and external stakeholders. This task also includes managing and tracking referrals to other ComEd programs and reporting the referral data, as needed.
  • Management Check-Ins: Attend weekly program check-ins with the Public Schools Carbon Free Assessment program team and contribute to decisions related to program.
  • Assist Public Schools with the Program application process.
  • Stay up-to-date with utility incentives and other potential programs that support public schools in completing energy efficiency and decarbonization upgrades.
  • Process service applications as applicable and follow Program procedures; assist in development of new services as they arise.
  • Work with technical and QA/QC teams to maintain and improve program quality.
  • Help develop protocols and apply best practices to continually improve the program.
  • Contribute to other Program Management and Operations Team and Elevate efforts as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience in energy and/or environmental sciences, engineering, public sector administration, or related field required
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in public sector, utility, or other related work preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce or equivalent CRM program helpful
  • Additional education or experience in the energy or public sector field, including working with public schools and their leadership preferred
  • Ability to stay up to date with multiple, often changing, program requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with public school leadership and stakeholders
  • Exceptional organizational and coordination skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Focus on quality and customer service
  • Ability to coordinate several ongoing projects and balance priorities in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting

Compensation

The total compensation for this position includes health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, etc.), defined contribution benefit (401k with contribution), professional development, generous paid time off policies, and a flexible schedule. This is an exempt individual contributor position with a salary range of $45,000 – $55,000, based on experience.
