Join Illinois Green Alliance for the next installment in our Road to Zero Building Tour series as we explore the collaborative design process and high-performance features of the DuPage Wildlife Conservation Center.
The main feature of this building tour will be the nearly-complete Clinic and Visitor Center—anticipated to be LEED Gold and Net Zero Energy certified. This new construction, 27,600 sf. center is designed to support an efficient and safe rehabilitation process, which includes a public-facing side as well the private animal clinic. The tour group will learn about the building placement and envelope decisions that centered around local, timeless, sustainable, and animal-safe materials.
Tour guests will also walk the site to see where the geothermal well field is located and hear stories from the design and construction team about various elements that make this building the first of its kind in the area.
