Share your skills and expertise with buildings by volunteering with Illinois Green’s Efficient Chicago program.

There are many ways Illinois Green members and volunteers can be engaged with Illinois Green’s Efficient Chicago program – become a Sustainable Facilities Mentor, be a guest expert during a training, or volunteer for our Idea Exchange Workshops.

A Sustainable Facilities Mentor will attend training workshops with Illinois Green to gain skills that can help buildings in their community meet sustainable operations goals. Over the course of a year, Sustainable Facilities Mentors will support a building in their neighborhood (or one in the Illinois Green community) with energy, water, waste, and air quality goals. They will also help engage staff and occupants of the building with education, awareness, and Green Team activities.

Check out our volunteer description for a Sustainable Facilities Mentor here. If you are interested in applying to be a Sustainable Facilities Mentor, see the application here.

We will also be reaching out to members and volunteers to support training and Idea Exchange workshops throughout the year. If you are interested in these opportunities, or would like to know more, please reach out to Laurel Kruke, Efficient Chicago Program Manager (lkruke@illinoisgreenalliance.org or at (312) 245-8300 ext. 202).
